The purposes of The Democratic Party of Josephine County are to:
• organize Democrats within Josephine County to develop and maintain Party unity,
• work to have the Party goals enacted into law,
• elect Democratic candidates to partisan and non-partisan positions, and
• promote the positive exchange of ideas through education and debate.
All voters residing in Josephine County Oregon and legally registered as Democrats are members of the Democratic Party of Josephine County and of the Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO).
The Josephine County Democratic Central Committee (JCDCC) is the highest Party authority in County matters and may adopt rules and resolutions for any matter of Party governance within the County.
Membership of the Josephine County Democratic Central Committee (JCDCC) consists of all Democratic Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) elected or appointed in Josephine County.
PCP responsibilities include: 1. Represent the Party at the Precinct level. 2. Together with other PCPs rally support for the Party in his/her precinct.
3. Elect officers of the JCDCC.
4. Participate in the meetings of the JCDCC, Standing and Special Committees.
5. Select delegates and alternates to Congressional District Committees and the State Central Committee.
6. Promote the interests of the Party as identified in the County, State, and National Platforms.
7. Work to elect Democratic Party nominees.
